Michael will have 20 more cards than John, because he got 10 more from John. When John took the ten cards out of his collection, that made him have 10 fewer cards than Michael. When he gave them to Michael, Michael would have 20 cards more than him-- 10 more because John took ten out of his collection, plus 10 more when John gave them to him. |

Solution

suppose John has 100 cards. Michael also has 100 cards. John gives 10 cards to Michael. Then John has 100-10=90 cards. And michael has 100+10=110 cards. So,michael has 110-90=20 cards more than John. |

Solution
|
Michael has 20 more baseball cards than John because they started out with the same amount. John gave 10 cards to Michael, so now John has 10 less and Michael has 10 more, making the difference between them 20. |
