At the completion of the course, students will understand the parts of a fraction, how to represent parts of a whole or parts of a group, and how to compare fractions to determine which is larger.
The following recommendations provide guidelines for students wishing to gain the most benefit from their study using the program:
Continuity is important. The course is designed to be selfpaced and selfguiding, so students may work on one lesson session for several days or complete two lesson sessions in one day. It is important for students to work continuously and regularly in order to develop good learning habits that will stay with them throughout their education.
Be flexible. Students should work on the course for 1530 minutes a day; however, there is a lot of flexibility in how to use that time. Students can choose to just do the interactive game during one session and tackle the worksheets the next day, or complete both activities in one session until the designated lesson is complete.
Do not skip worksheets! All lessons include a printable worksheet to reinforce the new concepts learned during the interactive program. The worksheets complement the interactive programs and were designed to help students improve their reading and writing skills.
